safety and supervision policy
Day One Education is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for all students. The following policies outline how safety and supervision are managed.
1. Supervision During Sessions
Students are supervised by the tutor during scheduled session times only.
Supervision begins at the scheduled start time and ends at the scheduled finish time.
2. Drop-Off and Pick-Up
Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring students arrive on time.
Students should not arrive excessively early, as supervision may not be available prior to the session.
Students must be collected promptly at the end of the session unless prior arrangements have been made.
3. Responsibility Outside Session Times
Day One Education does not provide supervision before or after scheduled sessions.
Responsibility for students outside session times remains with parents/guardians.
4. Safe Learning Environment
Day One Education aims to maintain an environment that is:
Respectful
Inclusive
Free from bullying or disruptive behaviour
All students are expected to contribute positively to this environment.
5. Behaviour and Safety
For the safety and wellbeing of all participants:
Unsafe, disruptive, or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated
Instructions from the tutor must be followed at all times
Students must treat equipment, materials, and others with care
Where behaviour compromises safety or learning:
Parents/guardians may be contacted
The student may be removed from the session if necessary
6. Medical Conditions and Allergies
Parents/guardians are responsible for notifying Day One Education of any relevant medical conditions, allergies, or special requirements prior to attendance.
Day One Education does not provide medical treatment beyond basic first aid where appropriate.
7. Emergency Situations
In the event of an emergency:
Appropriate action will be taken to ensure student safety
Parents/guardians will be contacted as soon as reasonably possible
8. Use of Equipment and Materials
Where equipment or materials are used:
Students are expected to use them responsibly
Any misuse may result in removal from the activity
9. Respectful Conduct
All students are expected to:
Treat others with respect
Participate appropriately
Contribute to a positive group environment
Maintaining a respectful environment is essential to ensuring all students feel safe and supported.
10. Communication with Parents/Guardians
Day One Education may communicate with parents/guardians regarding:
